MARC CASTAÑEDA
Marc Castañeda is a senior associate at Wade Kilpela Slade, representing individuals throughout the United States in complex civil actions. Marc is an invaluable part of WKS’s litigation group, with a years-long track record of successfully briefing and arguing countless, dispositive motions in class- and complex litigations, from pleadings challenges to class certification to summary judgment.
Marc joins WKS from his prior firm, Milstein Jackson Fairchild & Wade, where he honed his litigation skills on a host of complex matters, instrumentally contributing to recoveries for classes and individuals while taking on some of the world’s most powerful companies. He has had significant involvement in dozens of consumer class actions, and has been appointed class counsel in the following cases: Burks v. HP Inc., (Los Angeles Superior Court 2024), Abella v. Canyon City Foundation (Los Angeles Superior Court 2023), Gilmore, et al. v. Monsanto Company (N.D. Cal. 2022), In re Dollar General Motor Corp. Motor Oil Marketing and Sales Practices Litigation, MDL 2709 (2019), and Perez v. Public Storage (Los Angeles Superior Court 2018). In 2019, Marc served as second chair at a jury trial in an employment discrimination matter entitled Krieger v. Zoetis, Inc. (Ventura Superior Court 2019) and assisted in the trial of Perez v. Public Storage (Los Angeles Superior Court 2019). In 2024, Marc successfully moved for summary judgment on behalf of plaintiffs and two certified classes in a matter involving a nonprofit’s unlawful imposition of a transfer fee in Abella v. Canyon City Foundation (Los Angeles Superior Court 2024), obtaining judgment in favor of plaintiffs and the classes prior to trial.
Prior to his career as a plaintiff’s lawyer, Marc volunteered with the Consumer Law Project at Public Counsel Law Center, where he helped obtain representation for low-income individuals who were victims of consumer fraud.
Marc graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts in 2009 and received his Juris Doctorate from Fordham University School of Law in 2014.
